Request your Legal Strategy Document

Share the basics about your matter so I can check for conflicts, see how urgent your matter is, and prepare your written strategy. Your email is required so I can follow up.

This intake is intended primarily for amicable divorces, settlement review, parenting-plan review, and accrual or pension drafting guidance — not contested litigation.

1. The Basics

Jurisdiction: This service currently covers South African legal matters only.

Are you currently represented by another attorney, union, or advisor?

Needed so I can check for any potential conflict of interest before reviewing.

Are minor children of the marriage involved?
Are you already represented by another attorney for this divorce?
Are there protection orders, abuse allegations, or serious safety concerns?
Has financial disclosure (for accrual or division) largely been completed?
Are pension or provident funds involved?
Is jointly owned immovable property involved?
Are current parenting arrangements already functioning in practice?
Does the member spouse still belong to the pension fund?

2. The Case Categorization

Is this matter urgent—for example a hearing within 7 days, eviction or lockout, a CCMA deadline, a court date, utility disconnection, maintenance hardship, or anything else that may need attention sooner than the usual 2–3 business day turnaround?

Examples: hearing within 7 days; eviction or lockout; CCMA deadline; court date; utility disconnection; maintenance hardship.

Date of marriage, separation date, planned filing date with the Family Advocate or Regional Court, and any deadline already running. (Used to assess if the matter is too urgent for the usual 3-business-day turnaround.)

3. The Facts

Keep this tight (not a long essay). Maximum 2000 characters.

Tip: Bullet points or short timelines work best.

0 / 2000

e.g. "I want my settlement wording pension-fund-ready," "I want accrual numbers and disclosures that won’t invalidate the agreement," "I want a parenting plan that passes Family Advocate scrutiny."

4. Upload relevant documents

Draft Settlement Agreement, draft Parenting Plan, Antenuptial Contract (ANC) if applicable, and any related correspondence.

Upload guidance

  • Accepted formats: PDF, DOCX, JPG, and PNG.
  • If a document is password-protected, remove the password before uploading.
  • Avoid uploading unnecessary sensitive personal information—include only what is relevant to the legal issue.

Mandatory: This service includes review of up to 5 pages. If your documents exceed this, you may receive a custom quote or a refund.

5. Procedure

Is the divorce contested or in active litigation?
Have you and your spouse already agreed in principle on the main terms?
Have you signed the draft Settlement Agreement or Parenting Plan?

This service does not include court appearances, attorney-on-record services, or litigation representation unless that is separately agreed in writing.
